An Update from State Senator Bob Peterson

Delivering on Our Promises
At the beginning of the year, I stood with my colleagues to announce our priorities for the Senate's two-year legislative cycle. We made a commitment to you to make Ohio a better place. Today, I am proud to say we have delivered on those commitments with the passage of all 10 of our priority bills, as well as many others. We've made great progress, but there's still more work to be done.

Your Priorities Are My Priorities
Focusing on the priorities of you and your family is the most important part of my job as your voice in the Statehouse. Please take a moment to complete this Quick Survey about the issues most important to you and your loved ones.

Helping Law Enforcement Connect Overdose Survivors with Services
Our goal is to help prevent drug-related deaths and overdose recurrence, making long-term recovery possible for those struggling with addiction. Support for these programs helps law enforcement connect addicted individuals with recovery services, which is key in saving lives and helping affected families begin to heal.

Southern Gateway Innovation Center Opens Its Doors on OCU Campus
I recently joined area leaders on the campus of Ohio Christian University to celebrate the opening of the new Southern Gateway Innovation Center. Focused on job creation and workforce training, this new facility will be a central hub for regional economic development efforts, benefiting both job seekers and job creators for many years to come.

School Integration Advocates Inducted Into Civil Rights Hall of Fame
I was proud to pay tribute to the mothers and children of the 1954 Hillsboro Fight for Integration. More than 60 years later, these brave advocates were inducted into the Ohio Civil Rights Hall of Fame for their work in bringing about integration of Hillsboro Schools. What they were able to achieve is truly inspiring, and we can all be grateful for their sacrifices to ensure that every child in Ohio is afforded the opportunity to earn a quality education.

FFA Leaders Visit with Ohio Lawmakers at Statehouse
It's been a few years since donning the blue and gold jacket, but the skills and relationships gained during my time as an FFA member have left a lasting impression on me. Our local FFA chapters do a remarkable job preparing young people to step up as leaders, and I was proud to join a few of them during their recent leadership luncheon held at the Statehouse.
