The White House - 1600 Daily: American Strength, Spirit, and Security

Celebrating America’s Entrepreneurs
President Donald J. Trump signed a proclamation designating November as National Entrepreneurship Month, emphasizing the importance of an economic and regulatory environment that enables businesses to thrive and inspires the proliferation of entrepreneurs.
The Unified Framework for Tax Reform, supported by President Trump, directly reflects these goals by promoting an economic environment in which American companies are motivated to reinvest their overseas wealth back home, new companies and businesses are attracted to our markets, and hardworking Americans keep more of their money in their pockets. The new tax code will be simple, fair, and easy to understand and, most importantly, it will put America and its entrepreneurs first.

President Trump Leads Cabinet Meeting
Yesterday, President Trump held a Cabinet meeting focused on vital issues relating to tax cuts and tax relief in advance of the unveiling of the House Republican’s tax plan. “This week, the House Ways and Means Committee will unveil a historic tax plan that will create new jobs, higher wages -- which hasn’t happened in many years … it will lead to tremendous prosperity for American families, communities, and also for our job-producing businesses.” said the President.
President Trump also addressed the need for tough immigration policies to help prevent tragedies like the terror attack in New York City earlier this week. “Terrorists are constantly seeking to strike our Nation, and it will require the unflinching devotion to our law enforcement, homeland security, and intelligence professionals to keep America safe,” the President said. “We will take all necessary steps to protect our people and our communities, and to protect our Nation as a whole.”

Honoring American Service Members and Families
President Trump proclaimed the month of November as National Veterans and Military Families Month yesterday. The President encourages all Americans to acknowledge and honor the service and contributions of veterans and military families for their sacrifices to our great Nation. President Trump recognizes the hardships many military families endure along with those who defend our country and has asked the Department of Veterans Affairs to lead our Nation this month in observances across the country to honor our veterans and to show the reforms and improvements made at the VA.
