How can we stop the flow of drugs into our communities?

Synthetic opioids like Fentanyl have played a huge role in the spike of overdose fatalities in Ohio and across the United States. These highly dangerous drugs can make their way to our streets via online transactions from all over the world. Many people in our community forums wondered what’s being done to track, and eventually eliminate, this inflow. New legislation, like the INTERDICT Act, and new federal collaborations, like the J-CODE Team, provide more resources, trainings, and funding to both stop drugs from entering the country, and find them once they’re here. This week’s blog takes a closer look at the effect these and other recent initiatives are beginning to have.
